Dr. Yanoff is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. She graduated from Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in 1977 and from the Veterinary College in 1980. After three years in private practice, she joined the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps. While in the Army she completed a residency in small animal surgery at Texas A&M University in 1991. She gained extensive experience with sports medicine working with the military working dogs. Dr. Yanoff retired from the Army, at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, in 2004 after almost 21 years of service. In 2005 she joined the staff at Colonial Veterinary Hospital in Ithaca, New York, as their second surgeon. She retired from Colonial at the end of 2009 to spend more time pursuing her main interest, canine sports medicine. Dr. Yanoff shares her life with her 13 year old golden retriever, Dusty, her 4 year old beagle, Charm, two cats, a horse, a donkey, and several chickens. Charm (CH Wilkeep Third Time’s A Charm, CD, RE, AX, AXJ) is Dr. Yanoff’s third performance beagle. She shows Charm in obedience and agility and is training her in tracking.
